Environmental Education

Girl watering flowersCoatesville Primary School is committed to developing a "futures-focussed" curriculum which fosters knowledge, skills and values that equip our youngest citizens with the ability to build solutions and actively participate in their world, as caring citizens. The important environmental issues of water, waste minimisation, energy biodiversity and climate change are investigated in all classes. Students are provided with hands-on experiences through propagating and planting activities.

In 2009 our school was the recipient of the City of Glen Eira's "Environmental Excellence Award for Primary Schools".  This award recognised our exemplary practices in sustainable living and the way in which our students are demonstrating their knowledge and actions.
