Prep 2027 Enrolments


Our school zone

 

Coatesville Primary School has an enrolment zone. This is explained in the following statement from the Department of Education:


In most instances, you will be able to enrol your child into the government primary school nearest to where you live.

However, some primary schools need to restrict their enrolments – and the number of students they can take – to a particular area or zone around the actual school. This means that certain schools can only take students from a specific neighbourhood area. Where your permanent residential address is will determine whether your child is eligible to enrol in that school.

These enrolment restrictions are sometimes referred to as residential boundaries, school zones, enrolment ceilings or enrolment caps.

 

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

School Tours

 

School tours for Prep 2027 enrolments will begin on Wednesday 23rd April 2026 and will run throughout Term 2. If you have a child/children commencing Prep in 2027, and you would like to attend a tour, please click here.

 

 

2027 Prep Enrolments

 

The Department of Education has released the statewide Prep enrolment timeline for the 2027 school year.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Coatesville Primary School.

 

What you need to do:

  1. Visit the school's website to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
  2. Download the Prep enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available Week 1, Term 2)
  3. Submit the enrolment application for Prep by Friday 31 July 2026.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 28 August 2026.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
